Consumers now have a safer alternative to dangerous paint strippers, thanks to a new formula developed by Toxics Use Reduction Institute researchers at UMass Lowell with the collaboration of Super Remover company.
This safer paint-stripping solution is brought to market by SRD NEWGEN
The new product is available on store shelves through a licensing agreement between the university and SRD NEWGEN, announced in October 2018 by UMass Lowell and the company. SRD NEWGEN is a Canadian holding company, which holds the license of the new paint stripper formulation.
This new product is marketed under the Super Remover brand.
The invention came about because of the dangers posed by conventional paint strippers containing methylene chloride, which has been implicated in the deaths of dozens of people who are believed to have been overcome by toxic fumes while using products containing the chemical, also known as dichloromethane and DCM.
Earlier this year, the EPA announced plans to finalize a ban on the use of methylene chloride in paint-stripping products. Some retailers have already committed to take such products off store shelves.
That formulation, on which U.S. and international patents are pending, is now headed to store shelves. More on the project, including a video demonstration of how the product works, is available here.
Super Remover is the No. 1 supplier of paint remover products in Canada. The product is produced at manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and Canada.
Super Remover – New Generation without Methylene Chloride
A product developed on the basis of three principles:
high performance / user health / environmental awareness
High Performance
Super Remover always looks forward to offer high-quality stripping and cleaning accessories.
Environment-friendly
Since 2000, many alternatives of toxic ingredient remover were created, but none has been able to show a performance as strong as products that contain a solvent of Methylene Chloride, before this new recipe of Super Remover.
Never in 70 years has an alternative to methylene chloride been as effective as it is now.
